We are Criterion. We love games.
We’re Criterion Games. You’ll know us from the Burnout series, Black & two recent Need For Speed games: Hot Pursuit & Most Wanted. After years of dominating the driving scene, we are growing our team to work on projects that will extend our reputation as a ground-breaking British studio, bringing cutting-edge technology and innovation together to make awesome new AAA games.
Our studio is an exciting place to work. Criterion Games seeks out the most creative, passionate and talented people in the industry and we give them an environment where creative collaborations flourish. As a studio, we’re passionate about inspiring, supporting, educating and working with a new generation of game makers as well as experienced industry veterans.
The Challenge Ahead:
Criterion is fortunate enough to work on some of the biggest games EA makes. We are currently working on an exciting new game mode for one of EAs leading franchises which will make players go wild! We need people to join us in this journey to create world beating player experiences in one of the biggest games in the world.
What a Senior Tools Engineer does at Criterion:
At Criterion we love making games. We also love getting better at making games. One significant way of improving the way we make games is by having better tools to help everyone on the team do their job better, faster and with less friction. As a tools engineer you will be expected to use your skills to identify ways of making peoples everyday game making easier through creation of modification of tools built using web technologies. You will work with all disciplines within the studio and be challenged with fresh and new opportunities on a daily basis. You will be expected to embed with these teams to deliver end to end solutions in a timely fashion in a live development environment. You will be supported by a great team of experienced engineers and will be a vital part of delivering the player experience on time and at quality.
The next great Criterion Senior Tools Engineer also needs:
A sense of adventure, a desire to try things quickly and the good sense to know when something is not working right or is simply crazy. We value engineers who can think for themselves and be creative with the solutions they offer and be able to deliver incremental benefits to the team as the solution is developed. You will need to be talking, driving and demonstrating solutions to lots of people lots of the time. There will be something new every week and every day and you will need to be adapting to that change and helping that change be for the better.
